Padmasana or lotus is one of the most important postures in yoga and meditation. In Ashtanga Vinyasa as well as many other forms of yoga you are often in half lotus, full lotus, lifting your lotus, threading your arms through your lotus, twisting your lotus and even inverting your lotus! Without lotus you are missing out on a large number of yoga postures.
This special “Mini-Focus Series” (only 3 Weds.’s instead of 6) will focus on releasing the hips and surrounding areas (adductors, abductors, hamstrings, quadriceps and lower back) to create freedom as well as flexibility and deepen your understanding of the subtleties of padmasana – lotus.
I really got SOOO much out of our last focus. Thank you for all the support to learn how to work with lotus. I really felt at the end that I learned postures that will help to heal my knee, through hip openings, which is such a gift – above and beyond getting into Lotus. Thank you! R.V.
Through an active asana practice, deep stretches, twists, use of props and restorative yoga as well as personal attention from Dana, you’ll learn what’s right for you to allow your lotus to bloom and move freely in your practice.
Next Dates: Wednesday December 3rd, 10th & 17th
